I went around to all the retail stores in Boulder and looked at the vegetable and fruit juicers that were available. I did not think to look at Amazon until after about two years as I was very uncertain about the relative value of all the juicers on the market. The long and short is that a centrifugal juicer is a very simple devise with a high speed motor. I was looking for durability, easy operation and clean up and a powerful motor at a reasonable price for a kitchen appliance. The Koolatron KMJ-01 met all my criteria with better than average reviews. A 700 watt motor delivering a 22,000 rpm spin on the blades was impressive. The plastic parts are all well made and very durable and dishwasher safe. After reading all the reviews of the big name juicers, which were very expensive, I noticed Koolatron on Amazon a few weeks ago. Ultimately I settled on the Koolatron as the price and quality were right. It arrived about four days after purchase during the Christmas rush, I was impressed. It was well packaged for delivery by UPS.Regarding operation, I found the directions simple and straight forward and set up easy, about three minutes in all, however, after that I washed all the removable parts before I actually juiced anything. Read the directions they are important to effective juicing and care of the juicer it self. I have been juicing everything green that is eatable three times a day for two weeks, sometimes four times a day. It is an impressive machine for the price. When following the directions the juicer produces an excellent juice and a relatively dry pulp. Cut everything up to about 1 - 2 inch chunks so they bounce around in the juicer and you will get a superb juice. I really like this juicer, I have personally lost 1 pound per day since I started using it 13 days ago. Cheers!
