At first I was so excited after I got the slow juicer. Everything look nice and professional. Was wondering why they got such a bad review and I know why after I using this juicerThis is the first time I have to agreed and have to believe what the review says not in the commercial. From the picture I use the celery, cucumber and green apple only and it’s jam. I have to open it and clean it up and try to do it again and it’s jam again as a picture. Try to clean it up again like in the commercial that they said just put the water inside but it doesn’t work like it said. For me, my old juicer $150 it’s much better than this biochef. So sadclog to easilyI bought it for celery jucing; it clogs with just one stock if you don't peel it first and cut them small. I have to stop and clean it often, frustrating and time consuming. I'm not sure of durability so it's unrated at this time. I've used it three times to juice 4 sticks of celery at a time.Had it for two weeks now, this is hands down the best juicer we've ever had and we've had quite a few over the years. Easy to dismantle and clean. Has a heavy duty motor which is guaranteed for 5 years, general operation very easy to use. Wish it was made here, but I guess you can't have everything.jammed 1st time usedjammed 2nd time used.and this machine is 300 watts much stronger than majority of similar machinesyou need to use double the amount of veggies/fruits ( meaning 50% of your veggies wasted) ( I was using carrots and celery)to yield same volume of juice compering to centrifugal juice maker that I have been using for 20 yearson top of that you need to sacrifice like 1 carrot or half apple to fill the guts of the machine before starts pouring any juice at all.I can't imagine someone using this machine without frustration.I'm returning it .El mejor regalo que me hiceGarbage don’t buy this piece, don’t waste your moneyI had to file a claim after a delay in processing my refund when I was dissatisfied and wanted my 30 day guarantee. One review said that this machine is garbage, I disagree but it does have its pros and cons.Pros-Quiet, semi affordable, makes slow speed juice (lasts longer 24-48hours), easy to clean.Cons- Build quality needs improvement, pulp shoot jams, is not as efficient as my much much older juicer, doesn't juice hard veggies like carrots, beets well, reverse function can cause the machine to come apart making a big mess (which happened to me when a carrot got jammed).I initially bought this juicer to replace my very old Jack Lalanne centrifuge juicer. I like the look of the biochef juicer, that it fits under my cabinet, its horizontal style, that its easy to clean. When I got it I had a bit of trouble putting it together but theres a video on youtube. After that it was easy to assemble and disassemble. I started juicing and I was really happy, however, the first time i used it I got a jam. So i took it apart and cleaned all the pieces and tried again, it jammed again, this time i hit reverse and the whole upper container came apart as if the auger had some how popped it off. (could have been user error but I dont think so).At this point I decided to compare my old juicer with the new Biochef. I cut up apples, a half a beet, carrots, and kale. A centrifuge juicer should not be able to juice leafy greens near as efficiently as a slow speed auger style juicer. Not only did my old centrifuge juicer juice the same amount of kale, it actually juiced the whole batch more efficiently (even though the pulp was less moist on the biochef). 18oz Jack Lalanne and 12 oz Bio Chef.So heres where the claim happened. The day I got the machine I had problems so I contacted the company that sells it and got no response. I decided that I would return it and got an email from the company stating "I think the problem may be that this model is a vertical style juicer which has been designed to particularly be good at juicing softer fruits and vegetables like oranges, apples, berries etc.Things like kale and celery that are very fibrous and stringy are not very easily broken down in this type of juicer and you will find that the stringy tendrils tend to caught up around the many parts. I think perhaps you would be better suited to a horizontal style juicer that are more efficiently designed to juice harder and fibrous fruits and vegetables like celery, kale, spinach, carrot, wheatgrass, beetroot, ginger etcThey also offered to exchange the Biochef for a horizontal model...but thats not what I wanted. After a week of going back and forth, stating the problems, not getting a refund and not getting a quick response, I had to get Amazon involved. Amazon filed the claim and even that took a bit of time so I called Amazon back again and was pretty close to calling my credit card company and filing a charge back. Online shopping should not have to be this complicated. Especially when ordering from Amazon, thats sort of why we do it....RIght?Conclusion- If you dont have a juicer already and you like some of the features, you will probably like this product. It does operate with a learning curve and make tasty juice, however, you will probably deal with shoot jamming and get a lower juice yield overall and due to the build quality, Im not sure how long the juicer will last. I have used my centrifuge juicer probably a thousand times and got a jam one time when I was really pushing carrots through fast and making a lot of juice at a time, my centrifuge has a better juice yield, much much bigger waste bucket and as a rule of thumb will drink my juice within 8 hours generally.Compost your juice pulp, its fun and easy.
